New category in the members chart- LY=last year's high so you can compare this year vs last year for your high game and series. Quite a few members have already beaten their highs from last year: After week 14! New highs for this and last year- Pam Blye- 35 game, 77 series (nice vacation) Eric Menz- 27 game Erin Whitney- 34 game New highs for this year- Dave Johncox- 13 game, 73 series - Nice job all!! New to the leaderboard- Britt & Worth (Taylor)- 94 team game, 194 team game w/handicap, 232 team series 50-50 WINNERS LAST WEEK- Bill Blye & Maria Worth (again-lol) Congratulations to Billy Blye for graduating from Nazareth College with a Bachelors Degree in Communications. Good job to all the Blyes including the proud parents! OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF TOM BRONGO AFTER HE LOST HIS FIGHT WITH CANCER. HE WAS OUR SPONSOR AND THE MAN WHO MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO PLAY HORSESHOES IN THIS LEAGUE. MORE IMPORTANTLY, HE WAS OUR FRIEND AND WE WILL MISS HIM. WITHOUT TOM BRONGO, THERE WOULD BE NO LEAGUE... THANK YOU TOM!!! Our banquet committee this year is Erin Reynolds and Mark Britt from Thursday night, and Tom Taylor and Matt Strong from Wednesday night. If you have any suggestions for the banquet, or can get door prizes, please contact one of the committee members. We need a few 2" x 6" x 4" (or more) treated planks for horseshoes next year. Also, we always need 4X4 boards approx 3-4' long for the front of the pits. Plus, we could use more 16" X 16" patio blocks for the 30' walkways. If you have any of the above, please contact either Gene or me by phone or email. 2010 YEAR END BANQUET & TOURNAMENT INFO Mark Britt won the annual year end tournament. We paid 10 places out of 30 people. Gene brought snacks, someone else brought brownies, and Bill Fisher brought and grilled delicious red and white hots! THANKS BILL! There were dozens of door prizes given out. There were hundreds of 50-50 and door prize tickets bought. Kai Clark won the big 50-50 year end pot of over $50! There were over 60 people at the banquet, all who enjoyed the excellent food catered by Andy at the Rabbit Room. There were 2 kinds of chicken, salad, rolls, baked beans, pasta salad, salt potatoes, brownies, and cookies. The awards went great with Gene handing out lots of trophies and plaques. (see award page for the winners). Don presented Gene Welch a certificate of Appreciation for all he has done for the club as President (thank you Tom Taylor for providing it). We then voted on officers- we needed a new Wednesday secretary to replace Sue and Margie Dell was elected. In the voting for a new president, no one volunteered and Gene was re-nominated and accepted the job for one more year.
